Field Director - Ketapang, West Kalimantan, Indonesia Position available with the Gunung Palung Orangutan Conservation Program (GPOCP,
or Yayasan Palung), an NGO that operates community-based education, awareness
and development programs to conserve orangutans and biodiversity in and around
Gunung Palung National Park (Indonesian Borneo).
Duties: plans, manages and evaluates all aspects of our Borneo-based projects;
supervises staff of 14; liaises with local government and NGOs; involved in
program development and fundraising; responsible for grant reporting and
financial oversight. Qualifications: College degree; previous conservation or
development experience, preferably in SE Asia; program and personnel management
experience; strong communication skills; grant writing experience highly
preferred; Microsoft Office proficiency and Filemaker Pro database skills a
plus. Bahasa Indonesia and English fluency required (or demonstrated ability
to learn new languages).
